Do I need an electronic drum kit?
Only for the coach. You can play along, follow the drum notation and use the practice tracks with an acoustic kit. The coach reads hits from an electronic kit connected by USB MIDI.
Can I record my acoustic drums?
Yes. Connect a microphone through your audio interface, choose the input in HAB and record your take with the song. The drum coach uses MIDI, so it does not score the microphone recording.
Which electronic kits work with the coach?
The coach needs MIDI over USB and a compatible drum-note mapping. NORMAL mode accepts related pieces within the same family. Depending on your module, you may need to adjust its MIDI note settings.
Can I change the drum notation?
It reads like a bandmate's chart, not a carved-in-stone score: close enough to follow, loose enough to make it yours. Hear a bar differently? Edit any note right on the lane and your version stays with the song.
Does the notation need another subscription?
No. Stem separation and drum transcription run on your computer and are included with HAB. One payment unlocks the full version.
